The recent purchases of a self-propelled passenger stair as well as a lavatory servicing vehicle add to the array of environmentally friendly equipment that currently supports Luxivair SBD’s customers and will help the FBO keep pace with the growing demand for services.
New Electric Passenger Stair and Lavatory Truck
Both the ABS-580-E self-propelled passenger stair and the TLD LSP-900-V-E Lavatory and Water truck are fully powered by electricity. The adjustable stairway features an open driving station for greater visibility during operations, and passengers will enjoy the safe and comfortable access to aircraft that it provides. They will also undoubtedly appreciate remaining blissfully unaware of the new lavatory servicing vehicle while it operates efficiently and silently, without emitting any exhaust.
The FBO’s new electric ground support equipment (GSE) fully complies with both the South Coast Air Quality Management District’s stringent emissions requirements as well as SBD Airport’s Green Energy Element plan. By continually investing in state-of-the-art technologies like these, Luxivair SBD aims to exceed industry best practices, stay a step ahead of California’s standards, and reduce its carbon footprint.
Environmentally Friendly Technology Fuels Operations
In addition to the new passenger stair and lavatory truck, Luxivair San Bernadino Airport boasts an impressive line-up of alternative-fueled vehicles and other green technology, including:
- A private rental fleet of zero-emission hydrogen fuel-cell sedans
- Electric-powered aircraft tugs
- Two 10,000-gallon fuel trucks, aircraft ground power generators, and a forklift all fueled by propane
- Energy efficient LEDs lighting the airfield and large hangar bays
- Solar panels help power the FBO
